But, what is an extension?

Do you remember the apps you add on your phone to get extra features? Well, in VS Code we call these extensions. And today we are going to install some must-haves to make our C coding more enjoyable.

Step 1: Open the Extensions Bar 🚀

Look on the left side of your VS Code. You will see a series of icons. Click on the one that looks like some kind of interlocking blocks or use the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+X.

Step 2: Install C/C++ Extension ️

Type “C/C++” in the search bar at the top of the extensions sidebar. Click on the first option (usually from Microsoft) that offers IntelliSense, debugging, and coding assistance. Click Install.

What is IntelliSense?

Have you ever wondered how some developers seem to have a sixth sense, able to predict exactly what they need to write next in their code? They probably have a little helper: IntelliSense! It's a smart tool that offers automatic suggestions as you type. No more forgetting function names or confusing variables. IntelliSense is here to save you!
